“A short list of our favorite things”

This WordPress theme was designed as a companion site for Boston real estate agent Joyce Lebedew, who deals exclusively in the South Boston neighborhood of the city. The idea of the “companion site” for her original Real Estate company website is to boost Joyce’s search engine ranking by doubling her presence on the internet. Living in South Boston also serves as a “soft-sell” resource designed to highlight the perks of living in this specific neighborhood of Boston.

The site features categorized resources like food, services, or things to do, which are input and controlled by Joyce. She can even make personal recommendations linked to each resource, that slide in and out of view using custom javascript code.

The design of the mini-site was modeled after the business cards the client had already had printed (using the same font-face for the company name, and using the same grouping of grayscale for the color scheme). Since the website is only listed on these business cards as of yet, the idea was to create a “brand continuity” between the site and the business cards on a very tight budget.

I designed the graphics and coded the project myself, aiming to create a landing page that would feed visitors to either support the campaign or delve into the blog, that Matt writes himself, to get a feel for who the candidate is and what he stands for.

All posts fall into one of three categories to keep the information written about focused and useful, hopefully remarkable.

Note: Matt Bitz had to withdraw from the election because of an error to comply with the local requirements for eligibility. The website was subsequently taken down for financial reasons.
